Default Running lights

Hi guys I bought a 1999 jeep xj back in August and I have an issue I can't solve. My running lights on the drivers front and rear don't turn on at all but my blinkers do. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the issue could be? Fuses and relays are all there and good.

ISSUE SOLVED!: thanks for everyones help. The issue turned out to be fuse #7 in the interior fuse panel. The fuse did the thing where it looks good but didn't work.

Fuses would be the first place to look, although I don't have a diagram for your year to tell you which fuses to check.

Fuse is a good bet as the lights on each side are on separate fuses, particularly if the side marker doesn't work either.

I think it's #23 (10a).

fuses can look good , but be bad. I would change fuses to see if anything happens.

I had a similar problem on a 98.
Check the wiring harness real carefully where it bends at the hatchback joint.

That's certainly a problem area but the only lights it would affect would be the tag lights.

Although stating the obvious, make sure the bulbs are good. If you don't want to replace them, swap them to the other side.

If they still light up, you'll need a multimeter (volt/ohm). With the light switch on, check for 12 volts at the socket. With the light switch off, check for ground.

Can't help thinking problem is further upstream: the same filament in 3 bulbs failing on the same circuit seems unlikely & the grounds at the front, at least, must be OK because they're common to the blinkers, which do work - just thinking out loud, as it were, really.

Thanks for everyone's help. The issue is solved. It turned out to be a disconnected wire going out of the fuse panel.

Yeah, that would do it.

Always good to know when a problem's sorted - just hope it really didn't take this long to find the fault.
