Default running lean (good discription)

hi all my jeep is running horrible. so bad i cant drive it. it is throwing 3 codes first is

po138
02 sensor circuit high volts (bank 1 sensor circuit)

then

po141 o2 sensor heat circuit malfunction (bank1 sensor 2)

AND

PO171
SYSTEM TO lean (bank1)

i am stumpped i have a very bad exhaust leak right before my catalytic converter.and the jeep has a hard time starting. if i step on the gas i can only get to about 2500 rps and then the motor will die also i have a very bad over heating problem

'96 had a problem with bad cats and it sounds like yours might be blocked. There's a lifetime recall on them- have the dealer run your VIN. If it rattles internally when you smack it- it's bad. The fault with them is the catalyst breaks up into chunks (that's the rattle) then blocks the exhaust outlet. (that's the inability to rev up and the overheating)

You'll want to fix that exhaust leak, it's in a bad spot o2 sensor-wise, and look over the O2 sensor wiring (heater circuit trouble). If nothing found there the sensor itself might be shot.

i guess i should have said this.my bad. i have a new magnaflow catalytic converter. and a new water pump

Fix the leak, inspect for shorts in the wiring harness. Also check for vacuum leaks
