Running good then rough and bac to good
Im going to scan the jeep at work tomorrow but I dont know if I will find anything useful. So till then, I will see what you guys think maybe this is something common.
Today on my way home from work I drove about 6.5 miles and parked for 15min. I started the jeep and the idle was high (about 1200-1300rpm) for about 1 minute and dropped back down to normal (700-800rpm) I started driving again and about 9miles later the jeep started running (engine) erratic. --By erratic I mean the engine would feel like it was missing/ bogging down. Rpms up then down-- It ran like crap no matter if I pressed on the gas more or let off on it. I slowed down to about 40-45mph. The engine stayed running bad- I got off the high way and drove a road through a small town and after I got out of the town the Jeep started running fine with no problems. from the time it started running bad to running fine was a total of roughly 12 miles. after that I drove all the way home from that point with out a sputter or anything. the drive from that point was 9miles.
To make it simpler- drove good for 15.5miles. Bad for 12miles. running good for 9miles.
-I had good oil pressure the whole time too. obviously it moved a little up and down while the rpms went up and down when it ran bad
-The plugs and wires are in great shape.
Anyone have any info that could help? I really appreciate it!

Yeah, the plugs were the first thing I checked. I looked down the throttle body and its clean. Tomorrow at work Im going to scan it and I figure Id check the two sensors. The part that gets me is that its running great right now. Ive had a tps go bad on me back when I first got the jeep. it drove bad and stayed like that till I replaced it. A bad tps could act like a bad tranny sometimes. My problem isnt like that. I really just have to see what the scanner shows. From there Ill have to look at it like a customers car....
that really sucks because I dont have the time right now to mess around with it. I have a engine job on a suzuki, a tranny job on a 79 f150 and a engine on a 86 blazer that needs to get done during my off time from work. With no garage, and it getting dark sooner... this sucks.

Ill take it out and see. But if it is pretty dirty wouldn't the problem be constant instead of intermittent?
