Default rumble / vibrations / grinding rear driveline

recently switched offices and been clocking a lot of miles. the other day i started getting what can best be described as additional vibrations/rumbling from the transmission/t-case area. shortly after i started hearing what sounded more like grinding from more towards to the rear differential. i've since parked it and am waiting to investigate.

some background - AW4 transmission. installed an AA sye with an xj front driveshaft in the rear last summer. have ~3in of lift so the ds is plenty long. checked the t-case fluid level and its fine. haven't checked anything else yet.

suggestions of where to start looking?

thanks.

Already a mouth breathing appalacian (from pa)

Didn't have a lot of time but checked fluids (theyre all there) and didn't find any loose mounts. When inspecting u joints is there anything I can do with them still mounted? What exactly am I looking for? Just not looking forward to messing with 20 year old c clips.

Thx again
