if you are even planing to wheel- (witch in my opinon is the reason i have a jeep in the first place)- it at all you should use caution from hydro-lock and heavy dust and debris bad for engine !!! plus the stock unit flows pretty good

Yep thats what they are for. I picked up an airaid spacer, it has things on the inside that kinda look like threads. I actually noticed a difference when I added it. It was ALOT easier to maintain freeway speeds and I didn't have to kick down a gear as often when going up hills on the freeway.

not to critique it but say water went over your hood into the cowl ... now i know the cowl has drains but isnt the probability of suckin some water more likely then knowing exactly were the intake is taking air from... dont get me wrong i still like it for soft core stuff

it's triple redundant.
Most water that enters the cowl drains away and splashing water / higher water gets caught in the corrugated intake tube
Water that manages to get to the airbox falls to the bottom where it drains out.
Then the water would still have to get past the air filter and travel against gravity into the throttle body.

I never plan on sinking my jeep above the windows/cowl, but a quick dunk would be no concern.

Than you would know more surface area in the TB doesnt change your fuel/air ratio and doesnt increase your power.

A CAI that pulls air from inside the engine bay is not pulling Cold air. If you want true cold air it must pull from outside the engine area. Such as a snorkle listed above.. A true ram intake ontop of the hood and so on. With most of these things they lable as a CAI all you are simply doing is pulling the cover off and putting a con filter on and essentually pulling in hotter air than the stock setup. IMHO you are better off just buying a better breathing stock style filter. I tried the Cone Filter mod and didn't notice anything but an annoying whistle. Anyways just my 2 cents.

Yes and no, the cable had more stress on it. Faster throttle response because there is no play in the cable anymore.
