Default Rough Start (esp when cold)

'97 cherokee 4.0 4x4

Trying to address the various issues popping up on our jeep...

Intermittently, but especially when starting in the morning, the jeep starts very rough, ragged sort of jerking in the engine.

I did the engine mount check (brake on, accelerate, watch for movement) and the mounts seem good. Visually look OK also.

Any other ideas what to check?

try turning the key on but not to start, wait 5 seconds and try to start.. If it starts easily, then you need to check if you are losing fuel pressure after sitting for a while... It may be your fuel pump. Just a thought..hope this helps..

Is turning the key to ON allowing the pump to turn on first??

I'll try that tomorrow morning, thanks.
