Hello fellow cherokee owners! I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 88,000 miles on the 4.0 Inline straight six. I have looked for over a year without much luck for a nice cherokee and just as I was gonna give up and buy a wrangler this one popped up and I have never seen one so clean and with low miles. I have owned it for about 6 weeks. This XJ is completly stock so far and I'm planning on adding a lift, new tires and rims, bumpers, roof rack and a air induction kit. This is the problem I am having, 3 days ago it started running rough then the check engine light came on so I hooked up the scanner and recieved the misfire on cylinder 6 code. I started by replacing the spark plugs which helped a little bit but I'm still getting the rough running and the check engine light is comming on and will go away after the engine warms up. I just put in a bottle of STP fuel injector cleaner and topped off the tank with 92 octane to see if maybe the injectors are dirty. Any suggestions on what to do next if the motor still runs rough? Looking forward to hearing from you guys and just wanted to add that this is a great forum and everyone so far has been very friendly and informative!
Thanks!
Jim

Check out my thread someone just updated, I'm having similar problems. It's "o2 sensor check engine light." The fuel filter, o2 sensors, TPS and/or MAP sensor could be your problem.
