'01 sport, I6, all stock.

I recently had a no start issue that I fixed (I think) by cleaning/tightening/renewing the engine and battery grounds. When I would jump it during this issue, the idle would stumble around and hunt up and down, lights dim, etc. New battery and cleaned grounds, jeep starts now. However, when I take my foot off the pedal from any rpm over idle, it drops down to around 4-500 rpm and then recovers to normal. I didn't notice this happening before all of this. Any thoughts?

 

Hmm not sure if its the same thing, but mine a week ago had a start issue where it would start but stall right away. I would need to be on the gas for t to not stall. I did a search and asked my brother (mechanic) and was told to clean the IAC. Did that today and cleaned the throttle body too and it seems to start quicker and smoother now. Might be something worth doing even if it isn't the problem. Took me about 30 minutes and I am not mechanically inclined.
