rough idle
About a month ago, I put a three inch on my xj and the day after it started having a rough idle. In open loop it idles at about 700rpm and drops to 300rpm when it goes to closed loop. i still have throttle response and it doesnt sputter, the idle is just horribly low. I got multiple codes out of it and ended up replacing the fuel pump, tps sensor, IAC motor, and manifold temp sensor. no cigar... The one thing i found out is that when I manually adjust the IAC motor i can adjust the idle but after three or four starts the problems return. The IAC motor gets pushed all the way out again. It seems to me that the computer is sending the wrong information to the IAC motor. I need to know where the input information that the computer gets to control the IAC motor comes from, or if the computer can be adjusted. Anyone have any ideas?
