my jeep seems to be too rough shifting from reverse to drive

now i never tranny slam, i always go to neutral for a second, then shift into drive...always at a complete stop


Driveshaft and u joints are new....what could it be?

 

What do you mean rough shifting? Do you mean that it is hard to move the shifter or you can move it but it doesn't go into gear?

 

when i go from reverse to drive, it "clunks" rather hard.....more than normal i think....

 

I would start by checking the U-joints Along with the trans mount and motor mounts.
