Ok, so here on their website I'm reading exactly what you described about the electromagnetic clutch packs. But right there they still call it a "full locker/spool". So am I not understanding it correctly or are they misleading their customers?

For a rear locker ill stick with my miller 210. Say what you want it has NEVER failed me and it gets beat. Sorry used to its full ability. It not my dd mind you. But you can save cash for the front. Or blow it on whiskey. Eather one puts a smile on your face.
Shows you how much I know about E-Lockers and ECTEDs. Although I could have sworn one of them is a LS when switched off, and a full locker when switched on.

If you (anyone that is) is going to invest in a selectable LOCKER, it damn well better LOCK for the amount of money it costs.

Yes, Auburn is doing just that. ECTED stands for Electronically Controlled Traction Enhancement Device. It simply isn't a mechanically locking diff....and I've seen them fail first hand. One of the guys that went out to Moab with us a few years ago had just had one installed. It failed to perform on day one and rarely provided the advertised traction enhancement.

Sorry OP, I'll end my little thread hijack. Carry on with your normal programming.

RC has definitely come a long ways in terms of quality, but I'm afraid they're still considered the "budget" guys of the lift world. Not that it's a bad thing, but a lot of guys switch out their RC kits after a few years and go with RE, Clayton, TnT, and others with better long standing reputations.

Iron Rock has some great stuff. their kits are relatively inexpensive, but cost a little bit more than RC. their Iron-Y set up on their LA kits basically is like the set up would be on any LA kit with the upper control arm connecting from the central area of the lower control arm, but instead of having it as two control arms you bolt together, they made it a solid one-piece design. they also a have a few nice inexpensive upgrades they sell that are just great pieces of equipment.
