I did my headliner about a year ago: spray-glued replacement fabric to the original cardboard form. The glue didn't last and it is drooping again. Suppose my cardboard form is wearing out, what then? A wrecking yard version will be just as worn out. I am intrigued by the rhino-liner idea. Is it seriously practical? What's the result in terms of noise and temperature insulation? I'd love to see pictures. I want to do something custom that I won't have to do over again. Thanks.
a friend of mine had a 96 dakota that he just sold that he rhino lined the entire interior except the seats...it was really easy to clean and you dont have to worry about water getting in, it did get kinda noisy and stuff always rolled around on the floor

I don't remember but it was sent by the people who sold me the new headliner material, which I think was teamcherokee.com, so it shoulda worked. Anyway, other than the noise and heat/cold I'm interested in a durable spray-on like rhino. I wonder if some kind of diamond-plate pattern rubber coating could be done ... ?
mine is pretty bad. ill rip it out before i ever use those ugly cork screw things! i want it to look right not half azz!
theres tons of xj's at the junk yard near me so ill just buy a used liner for $10 - 20 bucks! why go thru all the trouble??swap it out!

OK ....so i figured out the cargo light it was 2 screws wow guess i should have just looked a little closer.
found a sound bar from another Cherokee tore off the old fabric scraped off the foam, reupholstered it and put it in. came out good but there are a few (3)finger indents. it was easy enough so i decided i would try my headliner next. i got an extra headliner in case i f%$%% up the first one. when i took the fabric off, i accidentally pulled the foam and the plastic from the backboard.
i used fiberglass resin to try and strengthen the board and give it a hard surface to glue the new headliner material too. this was working really well until i mixed some of the resin too hot and it got all clumpy. tried to get rid of the clumps but it was a mess. I will have to wait till tomorrow to see what i can do about the clumps. hoping i can sand them. don't really want to start over.
