Hey Guys,
I stopped by a local Auto Accessory place by my house to look into rims and the sales guy told me i dont need to do a lift on my 98 cherokee to get a 31 tire on a 15 rim. Can someone please confirm this???
I was under the impression that the stock cherokee size 215/75/15 that you really could only go 1inch bigger with no problems. maybe a size 30 max???
Thanks in advance for the help

I imagine you'd be eating your fender flares and rubbing on the lca's for sure... from what I have seen not many people here would recommend you to do so... throw a 2 inch BB on it... that's what I have and have 31's on stock rims... ithey do rub the LCA's at full lock... but I can live with that for now.

My 30s only rubbed when I turned near the lock, say maybe a 1/2 turn from the lock but they fit fine other, than looking huge in the wheel well. I did later put on a small 2in lift, well worth the money for improved performance.
x2 on the BB. There is a bolt that can be adjusted that will stop you rubbing. Idk what it's called specifically but a stopper seems a sufficient enough description...

Actually, the sales guy was correct. HOWEVER, that tire isnt going to fit on a stock suspension without rubbing. You MOST CERTAINLY can get the 31" tire on a 15" rim, and you can probably fit it under your Jeep (not positive), but it will definitely rub when you hit a bump or turn the steering wheel.

The bolt refered to above is the Steering Stops... throw a washer on them and see if you rub, add another if you do... I need to do this myself but I have heard there is a disadvantage as you do lose turning radius, but losing a bit of turning as opposed to breaking LCA's or destroying new tires seems minimal but rims with more backspacing is my eventual goal.
