Exclamation Rim and tire size

I have a 2000 Cherokee sport and I am thinking about getting some new rims. I don't wAnt to lift the Jeep so I'm going to get size 15x8, and the stock wheels are 15x7. Will my 15x7 tires fit on 15x8 rims?

15 X 7 or 15 X 8 are measurements that refer to the metal wheel.

It is not a tire size.

You are only going up 1" on wheel width, so unless you have skinny tires of the previous wheels, your existing tires should stretch enough to fit.

Vehicle lift or not is not a factor in this case.

Depending on your exact wheel offset, it may or may not rub on body/suspension pieces in hard turns.

Depending on the tires you currently have, you might want to think about upgrading those as well. I would suggest get new wheels/tires and sell your stockers.
