reservoir tank keeps blowing the cap off
my reservoir tank will basically explode after only 10 min of driving. its done this so many times that the cap is striped. i was using electrical tape on the threads so the cap stays on and that worked for about 6 months but now it will "bubble" over every time i turn the jeep off. i keep plenty of water in it so idk what it is. HELP PLEASE.

Are you talking about the coolant overflow tank or the radiator itself. If its the coolant overflow tank, you probably just have too much coolant in it. There should be a fill level on the coolant overflow that you fill it up to. Anything past that will jsut come out of the tank itself.

A blown head gasket will pass compression into the cooling system, causing it to overpressurize in about 10 minutes or so.
You need to have your "water" checked for combustion gasses.
Also, a 50/50 mix of antifreeze/coolant and water will increase the boiling point to about 240 degrees at sea level pressure.

My jeep did the exact same thing. and im pretty sure it might have been the gasket. but im not really sure. a quick fix tho is to release the pressure valve in the back of the block back behind the fuel rail. there is a little sensor on there it pulls right off you just take it off and let the air push itself out. its called "burping".

Yes closed. You probably have air in your system. You need to Burp it and make sure you keep the pressure tank full up to the line and now you probably need a new cap.

yes the coolant overflow tank, there is no mark on mine but i always keep the coolent (in my case water) a bit below the hose that brings water back into the tank. idk if this is were the water should be but it comes out quite violently as if the hoses are filled with steam when it blows
