Default Replacing shocks, also putting sway bar disconnect on

Im heading to canyonlands national park in Utah and I'm making some changes in my stock 96 sport w 48k on it. I understand the roads in this park vary in difficulty and was advised a sway bar disconnect would be wise. Are there certain ones that are most effect. Are there any downsides to these? Also replacing shocks. Mostly a road/highway vehicle so ride is important. Has original shocks now, which shocks offer a nice upgrade for around $150.00?? Would getting matching steering stabilizer make much difference?? Thanks for any input bout parts or park!!!!

I've been to Canyonlands several times, a sway bar disconnect would be great to have there, but I've successfully complete several trails there without them.

I busted my stock shocks on a trail there once, replaced them with Bilsteins which are great, but about double the price range you are looking for.

Looks like you are going at a good time, the Lavender Creek and Salt Creek trails are open, which hasn't been the case very much over the past few years.

Yeah I can't wait. It's a little over 2k miles each way, so I wanna keep the busted stuff to a miniuim!!!!! My daughter got a ranger job in the maze district, so I should have the scoop on all the trails. I've seen a bunch of options in 150 range for shocks. I'm sure any of them will be better than the originals!!! You play bass?? Will have guitar....

All we need is a drummer then, though I would have thought you were one given your username ;-)

I'm jealous of your daughter, I'd love to work in Canyonlands!
