I have a '91 Briarwood with a np242 that I need to replace the transfer case on because it sounds like the chain is stretched and is rubbing the inside of the case. The question I have is what is the year range on the XJ's and ZJ's I can get a replacement from that will bolt right in? I'm wanting to stick with the np242 transfer case. I'm not looking to mess with swapping out input shafts or anything that involves taking the case apart, just a straight forward swap.
