I am replacing my front seats on my 87 xj. When I turn the bolt it spins but the screw spins too. So nothing is unscrewing. Can anyone give me any ideas that could help me.

how many ? if you can get 3 undone.. i would just cut the 4th with a hack saw blade and just drill a hole in floor and bolt/nut/washer it...
might be easyer to use a hacksaw blade and tape a handle on one end so it bends...make it easyer but will take awhile... power tools would help... saw zaw or cut off wheel..

The studs on my 91 stick through the floor board and you can get at them from underneith with a pair of vice grips and hold them tight while a buddy loosens the nut from inside. Or just put a small tach on them with a welder and they wont spin any more. I think they are the same but if you do have that raised up bar the seat sits on you will have to cut them off like homer said.

Thanks for the help. I was able to get them. They were supposed to spin the whole thing. The screw has a washer welded onto it. Once I loosened it enough it just came out.
