I've done a ton of AC work. id say the biggest thing is gonna be to use all new AC specific orings and lube em with PAG before you install them. id replace every oring you can access while the systems already open. Also its worth your time to check if the compressor came with oil in it or if you need to oil it. And finally my personal preference with doing big AC repair is to pull vacuum on the system for and hour, and check to see if its holding vacuum well. Good Luck!

Replaced everything but the evap and cond on our '98 about a month ago. New compressor said "no oil" on the box but we turned it upside down anyway and a very small amount still came out. Book says 8.2 ozs PAG so we added 4.1 ozs to the new dryer and 4.1 ozs to the new compressor. Used 2 qts a/c flush thru the evap and cond followed with compressed air. Put it all back together and off to the shop we went. The shop pulled a vacuum and added new freon. 45 min later, 34F at the center dash vents.

Disregard, misread which component you replaced, and I can't seem to figure out how to delete my posting.

ok so i'm preparing to replace my compressor and accumulator. My question is where do you drain and add the oil from the compressor, my guess is you drain it from the output tube and fill it through the input tube. Also do you add oil through the input tube on the accumulator?
