What's wrong with FRAM? I run FRAM on my XJ, blah, blah, blah...

Just kidding...

Maybe I should take my NTK O2S's out and install Bosch sensors, and while I'm at it replace my WIX oil filter with a Frame filter.
It'll run fabulously!

Did Bosch have secks with your wife? You're pretty adamant. I have a 98 and I run both Bosch o2 sensors. It works fine.

While I have no intention of replacing the NTK sensor now that I have it, I'm not sure what all of this has to do with a Fram filter?!? I don't use a Fram because a lot of people have explained WHY it is an inferior product.

We're back to my original point that no one seems to want to address: WHY should any of us not use a Bosch o2 sensor if the performance of our Jeep is satisfactory?

Bosch O2 sensors are fine if they work. They are pretty hit or miss in XJ's but if you get good ones they are fine.

So our point is, why go with a product that is hit and miss when you can go with a superior company like NTK, where you know for sure you won't have any problems.

To the original poster, are you positive it is actually the 02 sensor that is tripping the code?

My 98 was throwing a C/E light code for the 02 sensor (upstream) and I replaced it. Turned out it was actually the 02 heater circuit. The cause was eventually found to be the the wire pigtail for the downstream sensor.

It had fallen onto the rear driveshaft yoke and was grounding out and melting a small 15 amp fuse under the hood.

I just cut that bad spot out of the wire and spliced in a new piece.

P.S. took me about a year to track down the real cause. this was frustrating to say the least. Haven't seen my C/E light come on in about two years now.

Default O2 sensors from NTK

23151 has been discontinued. What's everyone doing now using Bosch?

I used NTK when I did both of mine. I'd also trust Bosch or Denso.

I did not know if the number superceded to a new number? I will try other sites for parts beside rockautoparts.. 😞

I'd stick with RA!
https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/DEN2...pressionRank=4
https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...t=5132&jsn=330
Almost $40 cheaper.
