If your speed switch is burned, that means your blower or something else was drawing too much current. So, you should make sure your blower is functional by seeing if it works with 12V on the wires. If it doesn't spin with a direct connection, the blower is bad. Next I would see if you have any voltage at the blower when you move the switch to the various speeds. I'd also look for shorts to ground which could mean that the wiring harness has a nick in it and it's touching metal somewhere. Is the fuse the correct size for the circuit (factory size)? Often, people pop the factory fuse and put another higher amperage fuse in. This might work for a while but you're now drawing more current than the switches and wiring were designed for and the result can be a melted switch.
Lots of good help on this forum so just be systematic. I can't tell from your post if you mean that the blower isn't blowing or what. No heat/no AC doesn't tell much. Is the A/C compressor cycling on and off? Lots more information needed.
Good luck.

I replaced the blower motor, and resistor. I dont know honestly if the fuses are right. I didnt actually double check that.
Nothing blows out of the vents. It was working no problem(well only on high) forever one day I come out and nothing.
I dont notice the ac compressor getting "taxed" when I flip the ac on. but I didnt really notice the ac taxing the serpentine system when on except when on max ac after driving for a bit and then coasting to a stop sometimes it'd shutter alittle. I dont or didnt really fret over every noise to be honest..... maybe I should have.

I know this is an older thread... but my son's 92 XJ is having the same issues.
Replaced the Selector Switch, the Connection plug was burnt like the one you pictured so we found a replacement at the junk yard (funny thing... the replacement plug wires were in a different arrangement than the OE plug it replaced.... so could be I wired it in a wrong. I made sure the replacement plug was wired the same as the OE plug it replaced). Replaced the Blower Resistor and was going to replace the blower motor but it appears that the blower motor isn't getting any voltage. Even plugging in the new motor gives nothing.
**************
In order of replacement for us:
1. Resistor - as it had a burnt out wire
2. Connector - the plug was toast, melted and burnt
3. Selector Switch (Low to High switch) - assumed it was burnt out due to the burnt/melted connection
4. Blower Motor - didn't make a difference as the power plug doesn't give any voltage at all.
***************
I'm not an electrical guru, but any additional tips are appreciated on my end. I couldn't find any blown fuses or anything obvious.
I've tried finding some wiring HVAC diagrams online but the only thing I can find are for the '97-'01 XJs and not the earlier HO models.

I notice that the control switch has 5 wires. I had to replace the switch on my son's '95 Cherokee and only had 4 wires. Is there supposed to be 5? I didn't find a 5th wire. But the AC terminal on the switch didn't have a wire on it when I pulled it out. Didn't find burned wire in dash anywhere. Appreciate help, WMac.
