Hey guys,
My '97 cherokee has developed a windshield washer leak. I pulled back the splash guard, and it looks like the lower pump itself is leaking...
I found this videio:
And it looks pretty easy, but he's already got his splash guard removed :P
How do I get that thing off there witthout breaking anything? The little plastic rivets are in there pretty solid...
Thanks!

screwdriver (flat blade), just pop them right out, or you can grip both sides of the splash guard and pull, be careful not to rip the plastic splash guard, if you are lucky you can use pliers squeeze hard and pull straight out, on the fender side you may have push nuts (http://www.quadratec.com/products/72514_8016.htm) holding the guard on the bolts for what I assume are the fender flare brackets, my 2000 had two of them even though there are six bolts sticking through the fender. If you can find it at your local parts store you can also purchase one of these (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/oe...FVQ2aQoddYEF_g), I swear mine was called something other than a "door panel removal tool" but I can't think of it right now, anyway it works the same way as a claw hammer pulling out a nail.
Edit, don't forget to buy new retainers to replace the ones you take out, none of mine were reusable except for the push nuts.

Yeah I went and bought a Door Panel Remover Tool when I got my '00. It had the mat still underneath and it seemed like I was always removing for one reason or another. Popping of a door panel for one reason or another. Pieces of trim. Whatever. Napa. $4. Part# BK 7769160.

Thanks, I used a wrench and pulled the tabs out. I was able to reuse them afterward. I didn't even have to fully remove the splash guard, just pushed it aside enough.
The pumps were actually ok, one of the hoses had worked loose, so I jammed it back on good and no more leak.
Thanks again yall, and Merry Christmas!

Take off the front drivers tire and then remove the six plastic clips
Six clips located by the arrows
They look like this up close, just pop them up with a screwdriver and pull them out with your fingers or pliers
Plus you have three metal clips on screws under the fender like this one, you need to pry them off with screwdriver or needle nose pliers
After you remove the six plastic clips, and three metal clips pull the plastic inner fender back away from the front of the fender and place behind the brake disc to keep out of the way while you work on the pumps.
Two pumps behind inner fender. Top one is for the rear washer, bottom one is for front washer

Pump just gets pulled out of the rubber gasket, make sure you have a bucket to catch all the washer fluid that will come out, then pull off the washer tube, disconnect the wire harness
Pop the new pumps into the rubber gaskets, reconnect the wire harness, snake the inner fender back into place, and replace the plastic and metal clips to hold it all together.
All done Hope this helps future Cherokee owners in changing out the washer pumps
