Got the seatbelt stuck in the door twice now and was able to resolve the issue fairly quickly.
Is there a way to replace just the retractor or rejuvinate the retractor?
****** See youtube videos on just cleaning the seatbelt if it is older - pull seat belt all the way out, clamp, essentially soak in laudry detergent, rise, dry; a shop vac with the cleaning would be MORE helpful but not required. mine did not look dirty but after 28 years the oils and such do build up. It does not snap back as energetically as the passenger side, which has much less use but it is close. *****

I think everyones XJ (and any older vehicle) suffers DS seat belt sluggishness
there must be a spring in the retractor mechanism somewhere
out of curiosity I wonder if somehow a cleaning solvent then some lubricant can be got in there ?
I would not perform this experiment on my XJ, some other thing first
The DS sometimes gets frayed with high use, this is an MOT fail here
My question; Can an XJ PS side belt be wholly swapped to DS ?

When I called the company above the answer was yes given the age of the car. He did say one might have to twist the belt and use the mounting bracket for each side.
