The hose that runs from the air cleaner to the manifold in my '89 4L XJ has a small hole in it, about half dollar sized, that was torn by the electric fan coming loose and hitting against it. Replacements are hard to find and the effort is not insignificant for a rainy overbooked weekend. Is there any reason I could not simply patch it with duct tape and a silicone sealant? So long it doesn't leak, I should think it would be fine. Thanks.
