Renix Throttle Body Question
I promise I searched... PROMISE...
I just did motor mounts, welded cracks in the exhaust manifold, new intake/exhaust gasket etc...
So, i'm in the process of cleaning my TB during reassembly, and I found this:
The hole my finger is pointing at... there was nothing plugged into it before.
What is supposed to be plugged into it?
The hole goes into the TB, directly under the butterfly. So, its just an open vacum leak with nothing plugged in. (more than likely the vacum leak I blamed on the manifold gasket in the first place)

There should be a rubber grommet on both of those holes with a small maybe 1/8 inch vacuum line running out of the bottom hole, along the fuel rail, and up into something on the firewall with a green electrical clip on it. I dont know what the thing on the firewall is, but i just checked my 89 and thats how it is.

its for the map sensor. Just took my throttle body off and cleaned it all out this weekend, make sure to adjust the tps correctly or the trans won't shift right, hes right there should be a rubber grommet and ONE vac line coming off of it. You might be able to adapt something to work in there, or just hit up the junk yard and grab one for probably a buck!

It ran like crap before.
Audible vacum leak. Audible exhaust leak. Poor acceleration etc.
It didn't run at all when I got the truck. It did not have injectors with it.
I put Ford 19lb injectors in just cause I had them around, but its otherwise stock.
I'll have to go see what vacum lines (if any) the P/O had running to the MAP. I've got electrical grimlins now too. I reset the ECU, and now the fuel pump isn't priming. (fuel pump is new, and worked before all this mess.)
good thing I got the truck for free... cause its quite the roach. Its just about becoming more trouble than its worth...
