I called a shop that does hot tanking. I want to hot tank my oil pan and valve cover. They said that if the valve cover is aluminum, there's a really good chance that it will just melt instead of being clean. Is the Renix valve cover aluminum or steel?

Aluminum. Later ones are stamped steel.
