I'm wondering if the renix XJs need the stock sender next to the oil filter for the system to function? I've swapped a 95 H.O. including the intake,TB and exhaust into my 89 and I want to run a mechanical oil pressure gauge. I've already found a spot in the H.O. water outlet for a mechanical water temp gauge Since I drilled and tapped the H.O. head for the stock water temp gauge sender and I installed the needed renix water temp sender in the correct water jacket. The threaded hole in the H.O. water outlet was freed up for an aftermarket mechanical gauge. I can't seem to find a spot to add an aftermarket oil pressure gauge without eliminating the stock sender and I don't like the idea of a T-fitting at the oil filter. So the question is will the renix system work without the stock sender in place? I've already butchered my dash for an aftermarket tach, switches and gauges laid in stainless plate so I want to finish it off and eliminate all the stock junk cause the 89 is a trail only rig and a speedo is pointless already.
Thank you in advance to the renix guru

Yes it will work w/o the stock sender. Did yours come equipped with just idiot lights or did yours have gauges? The reason I ask is the sender for gauges may work with your aftermarket gauge so you may not need another sender. That sender only sends a signal to the gauge and no signal to the ECU so it will work with no sender or half a dozen senders, on a series of "T's", your choice.

Thanks Blue. It's a limited with all the options and gauges not idiot lights. Previous owner removed the clear cover from the instrament panel, Had issue where when the lights were turned on the gauges went funny. I just added a bunch of grounds and I haven't noticed the problem since.

I'll try and get some on tomorrow, I have to leave for work soon. The stainless plate is from a chinese buffet I helped remodel into apartments for college kids. I cut it to fit and also cut a piece for the space originally occupied by the stock clock thingy, that area is now toggles and indicator lights. I wet sanded(with1200gr.) the stainless to bring it back to a polished state after it's long life of scatch pads removing residue from......well let's just say chinese food. May be a bit to shiny now, not sure how to dull it without scratching
