is there a way to remove this easily and run it like a later model XJ???

 

You can replace the two piece passenger side axle shaft with a one piece from a later model. There is a seal that has to be relocated to do the swap. I know there are several threads on here about how to do the upgrade and if I don't find one for you first, someone else will surely post it.
