Hey All. I have an '87 Renix with 4.0 & manual trans. All of my thread searches indicate that the temp sensor which triggers the electric cooling fan should be in the passenger side radiator tank. Mine has a temp sensor in the driver side lower radiator hose. This lower hose is in two parts with a metal tube with a bung in it to which this sensor is mounted. Do I have a transitional model being an '87 (first year of the mighty 4.0) with an alternate location for this sensor? Just wondering as I'm not certain that my electric fan works. As I only drive it in the winter and the remainder of the cooling system is in perfect order it could be that it's never reached a temp high enough to trigger the fan. I don't want to spend time testing the wrong sensor. Thanks in advance for your replys.
