This is gold bud. I did the temp sensor thing with my old jeep and it never really worked. So with my new renix, I fill the bottle while the engine's idling. When it stops draining cap it and drive, check it out later.

right?
^^^^^^^ Just a couple of the many cooling systems myths that continue to be perpetuated on the Internet. Why one would want to raise the low end of the motor is beyond me. Coolant enters and exits the front (high end) of the motor. Air naturally migrates up, does it not? No air/coolant exits the back of the motor so why would u want to raise the back end? Why would u want to remove a plug at the low end of the motor? That's just another duh myth.

What I post here, regarding cooling systems, is true for virtually any water cooled vehicle out there.

Anybody that does any type of cooling system maintenance on an old/used car, then slams the hood down for a year calling it good is just asking for problems. Read my sig.

Well, that's the same people that only check or change the oil when the oil light comes on.

I will reemphasize "do not drill hole(s) in the XJ stat"......doing so accomplishes nothing other than slowing down the engine warm-up process and fast engine warm-up is important. Besides, there is a dime sized hole directly beside the t-stat anyway (the bypass) so why drill holes in the stat??????.....because some goober on the Internet says it's a good idea?....NOT.
that makes sense !!!

I installed a new CTS and flushed the cooling system. I put a new thermostat in without holes!

So I started to burb like I should, filled with 50/50 mix cap open and idle.

started to go higher revs, about 3000 rpm. than idle again and so on. there are still small bubles coming up from the bottle...

Is there any chance air could get into the system?

Is your video showing fresh 50/50 coolant?......kinda looks like straight water and a little rusty at that. It takes several heat/cool cycles for all the air to work it's way to the bottle. The upper portion of the bottle will always have some air in it but the bottle must never be allowed to be empty of coolant. If the bottle is ever completely empty, then air is being re-introduced into the cooling system.

On this side of the pond, here's what fresh coolant looks like.

Yellow antifreeze looks like this when it is mixed up. Sounds strange but is true. Believe me:-)

Get one of these from MAC's Radiator in USA. I installed one in my Jeep years ago ... no more pop!

... Frequent checks. Although, once you have a stable system, the checks become just that. A check that everything is still A-OK.
