Can anyone give me a write up or an idea of the best way to remove the trim from the rear hatch so i can gain access to the speakers? I removed the screws and the thrid brake light, but just seem to be braking all the plastic clips when i try and get the trim off the liftgate, so i'm missing something simple i'm sure...Thanks

Its pretty straight forward. Not sure what year/model you have, but on my '99 Sport its as simple as unscrewing all of the visible screws and then popping all of the pins, then she falls right off. You might be missing something if youre having all kinds of trouble.
PS: I didnt have to touch my brake light to get the inside trim off.

I broke most of the little plastic clips in my inside hatch cover when I pulled mine off, too. I think those clips are just something that gets old and brittle with time and there is no nice way to pull them out. I just did my cutting in my hatch, installed my new 6x9s, and when I put the trim back on I drilled holes and put extra screws in around the outside and it was good to go.
