Removing the NSS
I have to change/clean my NSS. The only difficulty i am having is pulling it off!
I got all the bolts all, and I read that it should just "Slide" out. I have it in neutral... any tips?!
Also, my spare transmission has a NSS still on it (SCORE!)
If the tranny is still in the jeep (it's not), is it 4 forward-1back for neutral? I can find out myself, but I don't want to crawl in the snow bank if I don't have too.

If you're prying it off try prying from several sides at once. This might help prevent destroying it or breaking the shaft it mounts on (which would be the worse thing you'd want to happen).

hey man.... x2, be careful, the nss is an expensive piece of crap, but you need it!... from Aftermarket Innovations.... "Note: Part of the switch housing is a plastic material. When removing the switch it may be hard to slide off of the shaft because of a build up of dirt and corrosion. You may want to spray it with a penetrating oil and let it set for a while before trying to remove it. Be careful when prying it off of the shaft or the plastic housing may crack." .... look here for more insight... http://www.cherokee-jeep.com/1-2swremov.htm ....good luck!
