How do you remove front bump stops on an xj?
Mine are beat and I found all 4 in perfect condition at the junk yard the rear are easy 2 bolts, but i twisted and pulled on the front ones till my hands hurt and i couldnt get them.

 

grab the top part of the bump stop w/ a pair of channel locks, and work it loose. they thread into the body w/ a little stud

 

so its not just the rubber piece id be taken, its the shaft too? and unsrews right there at the top of the spring?

 

Later models crimp in, dont know what year that changed.

 

by crimped u mean kinda like a giant rivit? and how would I remove it if thats the case?

 

some are pretty much impossible to remove.
