Default Removing aftermarket antitheft device

Finally decided to start getting serious about fixing up my 96 XJ. I posted a few times a couple years ago about having some issues with aftermarket electronics. First thing I'd like to figure out is how to remove this Clifford Matrix RS2.1. It was tucked up behind the trim panel under the dash and it's just an absolute mess of wires. It doesn't seem to function properly and sometimes when I open my driver's side door the side markers will flash accompanied by a clicking sound and an inability to start the vehicle. Any advice on how to remove this without disrupting my ability to start the jeep?

My suggestion is to find the installation guide for it. I found the 2.0 here:

Then follow the wiring to determine where it's patched in.

If you can't find the installation guide, just take one wire at a time, and follow it. Undo what you find. It's tedious, but not really complicated, once you realize there are only so many things that device can be doing.

It will either go to a plug, or it will tap into another STOCK wire, or it will interrupt another STOCK wire. If it taps into a STOCK wire, just remove it. If it interrupts a STOCK wire, then it has a partner that goes to the other end of that stock wire. Once you have found both ends, cut out the device's wires and splice your STOCK wires back together. You might also find that the other end was just left unconnected.

If it goes to a plug that is STOCK, then there's probably another STOCK plug that used to connect to the first one. In other words, this device plug is interrupting a STOCK wiring bundle. Once you are sure you have identified both ends, unplug the device and plug your STOCK plugs back together. If you can't find a matching plug, and you are 100% sure there isn't one, just unplug it. (But mark it, just in case.)

That's pretty much the process.
