I just don't get it.

Blew a freeze plug.
Removed transmission.
Replaced freeze plug.
Replaced transmission.

Idles fine (as fine as it ever did) but when you rev it up it's like a rev limiter is set to 2000 rpms. Just gun it and it pops and flutters and WILL NOT REV past 2k.

Took off the air intake hose and did the same thing. Removed the muffler, no change. Replaced the fuel filter, no change. Unplugged the o2 sensor, no change.

The only thing weird that happened is that I unplugged the far back spark plug wire (to help see behind the head) and forgot to plug it back in after replacing the tranny. It started and ran like crap until I remembered and plugged the wire back in. Ohh, and the starter wires at the starter arced on the frame because I forgot to disconnect the battery. That wouldn't blow the ECU would it?

What the hell?

Maybe.

Check all your fuses to make sure none are blown.

Do you have a OBD2 scanner? I would check to see if your throwing any codes before you start guessing. I dont know about your year but you might be able to use the 3 key click technique and the check engine light.
