Default remove roof trim from 87 Cherokee

Hope this is the right place for this query--

the four trim strips that lay between the roof racks have cracked/brittle rubber bases and need replacing. Can I get these strips up without destroying them? Where can I find new rubber material for replacement?

You got me. I might try a heat gun and a narrow blade, or maybe a thin wire.

I didn't see them at Rockauto. Maybe call these guys see what they say. > http://onlyjeepparts.com/home.html

thanks for the reply! just gonna have to figure it out carefully I guess. The roof racks have hold down screws, but not seeing hardware for the trim strips.

It's my bet they are glued. I'm not really sure if heat will help...probably though.

Btw it you haven't found Cruisers tips, the link is right up top in my sig. link. Lots of info there.

Not sure how you would get those off, as the other said I believe those are glued down. Also not sure if they are sold anywhere these days, but I can give you a good start. According to Chrysler those are called Pad, Skid Strips. And here is the OEM Stock Code #55000224

Best of Luck.
