Default remove rocker without cutting?

I know there are a lot of hardcore off road guys on here that will tell me to cut it off and weld square or rectangular tube. I do not want to cut and weld if it can be avoided. I only do light to moderate off-roading occasionally. I saw a comment somewhere about removing the rocker by drilling out the spot welds. Has anyone done this and willing to give pointers? I really only need to replace the passenger side and was planning on buying a preformed rocker from the internet. If anyone has done this, please share and let me know what rocker you used. Thanks.

No matter what your gonna have to weld it in if you want it to stay there. If you really don't want to cut it off then just start drilling out all the spot welds but some amount of cutting may still be necessary. I just put the 2×6 rockers on mine and if your rockers aren't rusted past the flange on the bottom it shouldn't be too bad
