I just bought a 2001 Cherokee Sport. The lock button works, but when I hit unlock the interior lights come on-but doors stay locked. Any ideas? Thanks!

2001 Cherokees had some isues with the wire harness for the front doors. The wires tend to break, or split and short togather. If you open the drivers door and look in the jam you will see a corigated rubber boot. The wires run through there, you will need the mostly disassemble the door to get the harnness out to inspect it for broken wires. That is where I would start as this is a common problem.
