U can use 3m, it will work. Its not cheap and u just need to make sure u get the board clean and use it thick. The only problem is that summer time with windows up the heat will take a serious toll on it and it will probably release. That's why I said that about the adhesive. As for the clean board its because when your headliner stops its the foam that deteriorated and not the glue releasing....also when u recover it any foreign debris will show. The material doesn't hide imperfections well at all. Its really not a difficult job. Its just methodical and tedious. Getting the board in and out is more work than doing it LOL. I know my friends shop charges 185$ to do one and its 31$ in material. So its up to u. Take a chance And learn a new Trick or spend the money. Hope the info helps.

use about 3 cans of 3M, and it is extremely easy. Just takes time. And start from the middle and work your way outward.

Recovered mine in may. Got foam backed material from a fabic store. And used almost 3 cans of 3M. It held up to the az summer. The wife's car gets the garage, so it was in direct sunlight all day. It stills looks like the pic below. The after market sunroof was a you know what.

I did mine in mossy oak camo, directly onto fiberglass with the 3M adhesive.. Worked out pretty good.
