Default Recovery tow pooints?

In the unlikely even I get stuck where can I hook a tow strap to pull myself out? I have a 5,000lb trailer hitch on the rear I believe I can use with no problem, but what about the front end?

For the rear I have a hitch with a shackle on it and in the front I'm running a set of tow hooks.

Not sure if you can tell, but they're right under the bump outs on the end caps of the bumper. Used them to hook a strap up to a small trees to pull it out after doing some landscaping. They work pretty well. Got the hooks off of my dads k5 and the brackets came from Quadratec.

XJ's don't have a frame. You must put in brackets of some sort to support the unibody rails. Lots of people make kits that bolt on pretty cheap. DO NOT JUST PUT A D RING OR TOW HOOK any where on the front without the brackets.

I laughed.

They do, its just part of the body. Just cause its uni-body doesnt mean there isnt a frame in there. The front bumper hooks up to the frame, thats usually where you put d rings. And of course you need a bracket, i think anyone can figure that one out( this> D wont just magically hook up). And dont go saying, oh its frame rails, yadda yadda. Thats a frame.

It is a Unibody. NO real FRAME. The whole truck is the Frame.

And if someone is seriously asking where should I hook up in the front. Then he has NO CLUE. You actually need to speel out Bracket to the unibody.

Don't assume any of these Tards know anything.

Yes and no, its a real frame, but instead of it being constructed underneath the body, it was constructed in it. Its still a frame, we have done frame repairs on many XJ's before.

NO frame LOL

Full-frame vehicles have a separate frame that the body sits on; a unibody has frame rails and structural supports integrated into the body components, working together to strengthen vehicle

We could go back and forth lmfao

Its essentially a frame, but part of the body.

What you consider a frame and what I consider a frame are essentially two different things.

I use a d-ring on the hitch in the back and d-rings on the front. Both work great.

dont put on the tow hook brackets they bend easily. i would do the d ring brackets or a detours back bone. or just build a bumper depending on your abilities.

oh we have a unibody not a frame. so does a honda civic technically have a frame too? its all one piece like an xj? if an xj has a full frame then why do we strengthen it? try wheelin a yj or Lj then wheel an XJ a huge difference due to frame IMO.
