Since I cannot find a 4.0L under 150K miles within 700 miles of me for under $700, I am thinking of just pulling mine and doing a cheap rebuild.

1992 4.0L. Cherokee Sport. 1 PSI oil hot. ~10-13 running 80MPH on the interstate. Ticking but no knocks yet.

Whats the cheapest, best kit to rebuild this thing? Who sells it? Ive seen kits from 300 up to 1000 on the net.

Any suggestions?

Not sure who is best, but and reputable parts supplier can get what you need. You could do a real budget rebuild, remove the oil pan an wind in some new rod and main bearings + oil pump.
I did that with an old ford bronco 351m lasted for years.....

Think that's the way I'm leaning for now.. Gonna replace the pump, RMS and check a bearing or two for kicks. 250K on the clock so why not.

I really want to build stroker so I'm trying to keep the old girl on the road till May/June when the temps here are above 0F and I get time to rebuild.
