Default rebuild np242 or sell?

for those that have rebuilt a 242 how hard is it to do and how much money did it cost? ive got a 242 that wont work in 2 wheel drive but will pull in 4wd, wondering if i should sell it or rebuild it. i don't know how much it is worth if i sell it on craigslist or if its worth rebuilding. if i rebuild i'll put a hack n tap on it and wait till one of my t-cases goes out

I had an NP242 and stretched the chain in it pretty bad. I put a new chain in and within 4 months on my 2nd trip to Raush the new chain started to stretch and skip again. It may have been a cheap chain but for $120 it hurt when i later bought a used np231 for $200 and now I will never look back. The NP242 is a bigger case but it is known for the chains stretching and something with the full time clutch but that i am unsure of.
