1998 cherokee 2 door sport.
just purchased. Rear wiper not working.

Fuse was blown. Replaced. Still not working.
Tested switch. Washer pump work but nothing from wiper.
Replaced switch. Now relay in wiper assembly works but no function.
Pulled apart wires at hatch pivot area. Found a broken wire. Repaired.
Pulled wiper motor apart and bench tested with leads right to motor. Motor works.
plugged motor back into vehicle. Motor turned on and put wiper back into parked position. But that's it.

So to recap, switch functions. Engages intermittent relay at wiper motor. And engages washer pump. Motor will not function.

What am I missing?

 

I'd check the wires in the hatch area again, I'd almost bet you missed something.

 

So what wire could be damaged?
power goes to motor as it returned to park position.

 

It has 4 wires. One main feed, one that goes live when you switch to wipe, one that goes live when you switch to wash and then a ground.
