It seems the PO glued the rear view mirror off center towards the passenger side of the '99 XJ. It's driving me crazy and I'd like to get it back to the factory center location. Can someone please measure and let me know the factory location of the mirror mount? I know it's dead center horizontally. I just need to know the exact vertical position. Thanks in advance.

 

'00 XJ. Looks like 26 1/4" side to side and it looks like 2 5/8" down from my headliner. Tough to get a measurment there. Thing is I redid the headliner and it is anybodies guess if it is in the exact factory position. Little tip use the 3M rear view mirror glue.

 

Thanks for the measurements. I got it as close to center as possible. Calms my OCD down a bit. I've actually had great luck with Permatex rear view adhesive.
