Default Rear view mirror?

i dont know if its just me or my rear view mirrow seems like its right in the middle of my window vertically. It might just be im used to my car i dont know. It seems like it obstructs my view sometimes, its my gf's DD and she also has all the stupid crap hangin from the mirror that just adds to it. Im thinking about removing it and putting it more to the top of the windshield to where i can still see out the back. Anybody have a stock measurment from the cieling to the part that sticks to the window?

I know exactly what ya mean. Mine (mounting button) is about 1" below the headliner now, much much better.

Do it...

I just removed mine entirely. Don't need it with the two outside mirrors and my back window is always so mudded up you can't see much anyway.

The adjustment in mine is messed up and barely stays where I need it. My Chevy truck didnt have one for a long time so I am used to not having it. I however dont feel that it is too low or obstructs my view..

I'm looking for a Gentec 177 mirror from a Caddy/Suburban etc. This will give me compass and outside temp with autodim. I dont want the on-star model though.

What sensors are involved with that mirror Overland? My Jeep has the outside temp/compass in my overhead console but would like the autodim option.

Blue, just a sensor for the temp like the XJ's on front crossmember. I'll dig out the info and post the part# for reference here.

That mirror is also easily attainable with JUST the autodim from older models if you'd like to pick one up. It's a direct swap using the XJ button on glass.

How does it sense the lights need to be dimmed and how does it accomplish that task? Sorry to be so unknowledgeable on this subject.

BTW which models had that mirror that just autodims.

This whole mirror thing reminded me of my Thunderbird. It had the power side mirrors and whenever someone would drive behind me with thier brights on.. I would adjust my side mirror to reflect the light back into thier eyes...

Blue, heres a Chevy pickup mirror that fits your requirement. Notice the off/auto switch for the dimming. I think it senses the headlights from behind you and auto dims. I'v seen them much cheaper, and i plan to hit a local yard for my mirror.... i'll see if i can score the one you need while i'm there.

Heres the one i need. Notice the compass/temp switch and lack of on-star. This one happens to be 20 min from my house...hmm.
