Exclamation Rear sway bar removal?

So the other day i took the driver rear wheel off and noticed that the bushing thats on the link wasnt there and the sway bar wasnt connected, i never noticed a difference while driving, i was wondering if i could take it off and save the money of fixing it? i thought i remember hearing that some older xjs came without them but didnt know if they have struts or something in the back for stiffening

I removed mine and left the links. I have had no problem at all. I do plan to remove them when the weather is better but you should have no problem if you leave them.

took both front and back off of mine. They are there for a reason but frankly if your gonna take a corner at 90 you deserve to roll it haha. (O no gonna get that front sway bar debate going again haha)

Front sway bar is debatable to some, rear sway bar isnt. Toss it and make rear BPE's out of the mounts.

+1 rear sway bar is crap. UpCountry packages did not have it.

When towing a lot the rear sway bar is helpful with stock suspension, but you'd really be much better off looking into HD springs and possibly shocks, especially if you still have 15-20 year old stock springs

I took it off today, the only problem I ran into was removing the body mount on the passenger side I broke the nut off from the inside of the unibody, so I just sawed the mount off
