Default Rear springs make me want to scream!!!!

First off, I tried to use the search function before I posted this. BUT, the only Internet I currently have is on my iPhone and it won't let me...

Second, I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but what are the secerets to getting the front spring hanger bolts out of these things?? I have a bad a$$ impact gun (650 ft/lb ingersol Rand) that dosent even come close. I looks like the real problem is that the metal sleeve on the spring bushing is froze to the bolt. It looks like when the impact Is hammering on it, the spring bushing is just absorbing it all. I know there have been thousands of successfull full leaf pack lifts done on these over the years. Even on vehicles from Michigan like mine. So, what's the trick??

You may have to break down and use a good old fashioned breaker bar. Lots of pb blaster will help also

If my 650 ft/lb impact doesn't break them loose, I'm doubting that my breaker bar would... I was trying to not have to cut this thing to pieces with a tourch... Where the spring hanger is, it would be real easy to catch the carpet/interior on fire on these things. It is a friends Jeep that im working on and I'm trying to keep from having this thing occupy my garage and drive way for way too long.

I have 650 ft/lb IR as well. Wouldn't budge those bolts. I got mine out with a breaker bar.

There is no comparison between a impact gun and a good ol' breaker bar. Like you said the bushing absorbs the force of the impact gun, It wont absorb the force of the breaker bar.

Also the torch wouldn't be for cutting it up, just some heat to break the bolt loose

A simple mapp torch to heat the area up and a big breaker bar should do the trick.

Don't leave the bolt loose after you've beaten on it, it won't be safe!!!

I have a snap on impact gun thats rated for 1000ft/lb in reverse and there is stuff it wont budge so I just grab my trusty breaker bar and a pipe, usually always breaks the bolt loose or snaps it

Well, that was my concern. I didn't want to break the bolt. typically an impact is less prone to to breaking a bolt because it hammers it off instead of twisting it off. I'll try heating the the head, maybe that will transfer enough heat to the shoulder of the bolt and maybe get it loose.

I remember crankin' off my body side shackle bolts with my breaker bar(after my 650ft/lbs impact didn't budge it.

That damn bolt fought me from first turn to the very last damn thread! That's the first bolt i've EVER had to take a break from turning.

Yeah, these Michigan trucks are a PIA. This one is super clean, EXCEPT for bolts undernieth... Here is a couple pictures with the RE spring pack on the factory main leaf. It looks like it'll work, but the RE main is about 3/4" or so longer improving the shackle angle. I'd really want to get those main leaves in it... It is a sweet rig though. The color in real life is way more blue and less purple than the cell phone pics show. It's a 96 4.0 HO, 5-speed, four door. only down side in the D35 in the rear
