rear speakers in a 98

Default rear speakers in a 98

how do you get the rear speakers out of the head liner speaker mounts and what size are the? [factory location and factory speaker size] please help.

As for getting them out you have to remove that sound bar. Once removed there are some sort of fastener you should be able to remove. The speaker side is 5.25", but it can be modified to accommodate 6" speakers..

The above is if the sound bar isn't built into the headliner..if it is then you llikely have to remove the headliner itself..You might be able to drill the fasteners out and then mount new speakers I dunno..

The grills on the speakers mounted up top should pop right off. Use a panel popper, or a small screwdriver or something around it. Then you should have 4 screws securing the speakers. They're either 5.25 or 6.5, can't quite remember.

In my 98 I just popped the grills off and took the 4 screws out and replaced the 5.25" speakers.

I have to say. Removing and putting back in the soundbar was the biggest pain in my *** i've ever had to deal with in my LIFE!
