Default Rear Quarter Window Seal

Is this the same part for 84-01? I'm finding the Crown part number to show 84-01 but others like Omix and Fairchild to only show 84-96.

Thanks

The Crown site also say 84-96. Jeep part 55007134

That's for the rear tailgate window but the crown part for the rear quarter says the same thing on their website.

Distributors are listing it as 84-01
https://www.carid.com/crown/driver-s...5007129ab.html

I've also found the rear quarter glass listed for 84-01 so I'm wondering if they are the same. Trying to get ahold of someone to verify before I order.

Just to follow up. I called Crown and they said that their master tech said that the 84-96 will NOT fit the 97-01 rear quarter window. Crown's book is actually wrong because it has conflicting information. Book says 84-01 but web says 84-96.

I still would like to see if someone can confirm this. Might have to visit my local pull-a-part to get one.

I'm wondering this same thing as I need new rear quarter windows for my 98xj.
I went ahead and purchased a set of seals marked for "84-96". Attached are some detail photos of those seals. I don't have my XJ around (it's still in the shop), but from photos I've seen online, they look quite similar!

Nice...that would be awesome if you can verify fitment and post back. What brand did you get?

As I recall there is a right and left seal, different shapes. get it right! my bud bought a 2001 XJ and the rear windows leaked we found upon removal that the left and right seals got swapped by prior owner, the seals fit enough to hold the glass ok, but leaked. We swapped the seals and no more leaks!
Beware, the left and right seals can be installed backwards, and still aplear to fit, but it will be wrong and they will leak is what we found hahaha!

Did you have a chance to check the seals with the Jeep?

Unfortunately I'm backed up at work and haven't had a chance. I need to remove the current windows first - so it may be awhile. I just wanted to make sure I had the parts on-hand or find out if I needed to find another option.

Ok. Keep us posted. Maybe in the meantime someone else will chime in and confirm.

Bumping back up to see if I can find an answer to this. Might just have to buy one and chance it.

OK...I purchased one on ebay which was fairchild industries brand. Quadratec states 84-96 https://www.quadratec.com/products/55014_8100.htm but the listing said 84-01.

Long story short...it fits perfectly from what I can tell. Seems identical to me. I won't be reinstalling until after I paint but it looks like it will work.

You are my hero!

I am curious, could you post exact source where you got them and did you bought other window seals?
