I redid the rear main seal and the oil pan gasket on my 1989 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4.0 liter and it is still leaking!!! How do I fix this or is there a way to fix it?

 

Make sure that is what is leaking. Could be the valve cover gasket. Could be the Oil Filter adapter O ring.

I had to do my rear main 3 times before I got it right.

 

I made sure it was the rear main but thanks for the advice I'll check everything out. What do you want 300 dollars for? My car?

 

That is just my signature.

One time my problem was the oil pan gasket got pinched or something. It basically fell apart at the back of the engine when I was putting it back on.

The other time, I scraped off a sliver of the RMS as I was putting it back into the block.

Other people have had trouble using the wrong kind of sealant. Do not use RTV. You need the MOPAR stuff or Loctite 518.
